Equity Lab, by the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), in collaboration with Sea (Thailand) and the Shrewsbury International School Network, organized the 2nd workshop under the Equity Partnership’s School Network Season 5 project via the Zoom online channel to enhance the skills of 10 teams of Equity Scholarship students and international school students participating in the project to develop them into full-fledged entrepreneurs. Dr. Sahaphop Kleeplamchiak and Mr. Prasert Klongngulum, experts in product development, branding, and packaging design from Chulalongkorn University and Ramkhamhaeng University, provided training and guidance throughout the event. The team from Shopee Seller Education provided knowledge on opening an online store, and Ms. Thanaporn Sukanjanasiri, owner of Pick Me Please, shared her successful experience using the Shopee online platform to sell products to inspire students who are starting their businesses.
Through practical experience with schools in remote areas that equal scholarship students are paired with, the activity is training to provide knowledge that follows from the Field Trip activity, where international school students go to the field to exchange and learn about society, lifestyles, diverse cultures, and entrepreneurial skills. This process of thinking, evaluating, producing, growing, and interacting with the community and surrounding area yields new ideas for product development in their teams and adding value to commodities or products, which may result in the creation of jobs and revenue for the community and school.
This time, the workshop’s primary topics include:
1. Brand and product storytelling entails educating students about brand strategy, brand storytelling techniques, and marketing strategies to raise their awareness of and comprehension of conducting business in a way that necessitates a connection between customers, products, and services. Examples of successful and well-known brands from today’s market can be used to present brand stories that could influence the product’s value. These tales can cover topics such as factors to think about during the branding process, issues that might arise, and challenges that your team might face.
2. The presentation of images in narrative on packaging and social media, encompassing the dissemination of information about brand storytelling via packaging (Brand storytelling), fundamental packaging knowledge, narrating stories that complement packaging, green marketing, and offering suggestions for packaging design. Students can use packaging design and narrative to improve the small company items produced by their teams.
3. In order to maximize profits and foster customer pleasure, label and packaging production, 5A marketing, costing, and pricing evaluation are meant to impart information regarding label design processes and simple product costing. Students will learn label design strategies for packaging that directly impact product awareness and customer purchase decisions through 5A marketing, online product sales strategy, and graphics for product brand presentation. Additionally, it involves using high-quality label design tools, accurately estimating product expenses for pricing, and honing your thinking process photography skills to capture the unique, lovely, and fascinating looks of your team’s items.
4. There are various uses and techniques in the online product sales system on Shopee and opening a storefront to sell products online on Shopee, with Ms. Thanaporn Sukanchanasiri, owner of Pick Me Please, sharing her successful experience in using the Shopee online platform to sell products. The Shopee Seller Education team provided knowledge on the steps to sell the first product, techniques for naming products, product categories and product attributes, using product options, setting prices, inventory, and minimum purchase amounts, as well as using free marketing tools on Shopee, which will help students apply various techniques and tools to boost product sales according to their expertise and suitability for their stores or products.
